Strawberries

For many a year my mum, me and my brother have tried to grow veg, fruit and herbs, with little success.
But this year, mum has managed to grow strawberries.

I never got growing your own stuff, it takes forever, and you only ever get enough for one or two meals.

But i will admit, these strawberries where the sweetest, juiciest strawberries i have ever had.
I'm thinking we may grow more things!
Plus strawberry photos are fun to play with.

  2. I definitely felt the same about 'growing your own' but it was strawberries that changed my mind too - it's so satisfying to think that YOU did it, even if there's only enough for one person each year (I could eat strawberries all day long, particularly if they're as nice as mine were).

  11. Chloe, these little berries are summer perfection! One day I hope to grow strawberries but my black thumg isn't leaving with much hope :) I'm growing potatoes and basil right now and holding my breath to see if they turn out okay (the potatoes at least--the basil is growing like bonkers).

  14. Chloee, I know what you mean about all that waiting and all that work for only a few handfuls of herbs or one big zucchini. But, you are so right about home grown strawberries - they're like a whole different fruit compared to what you find at the store!! it's a good reason to keep growing :)
